Summer Volunteer Opportunities
Sarah’s Covenant Homes is currently accepting applications for our summer volunteer program! We have 3 exciting opportunities for people to get involved with SCH and the kids and adults we serve
“Catch Up” Camp
June 5-29
This one month volunteer opportunity will focus on some of our school aged kids at SCH who need help getting caught up to grade level! Many of our kids have fallen behind in school for a variety of reasons and we want them to start the school year off on the right foot. You will spend your afternoons working 1:1 or in a small group with some of our kids from Joy or Courage. Mornings with be spent helping with lesson plans, working with some of our other in-home schools, and helping us train our local teachers to make sure they have the tools to continue to work with the kids throughout the school year. This opportunity is ideal for teachers and college students majoring in education but we welcome people with different backgrounds to apply! Cost is $600 plus airfare and passport/visa costs.
Vocational Program
July 3-27
This one month volunteer opportunity will focus on one of our newest programs- our vocational program based in our Ongole homes. This program gives our young adults opportunities to discover and utilize their God-given gifts and talents to impact society. We are looking for people with a business, marketing, or design experience. We’re looking for creatives who know how to market and brand a company; For those who have an eye for trends and/or have design experience to assist with our jewelry and home decor products. We’re also looking for those with business insight, experience managing logistics and or administrative skills. We also need photographers and writers to help us share our stories with the world! This is a unique opportunity to get involved with our young adults and help us get our vocational program off the ground! Cost is $600 plus airfare and passport/visa costs
Storytelling
August 1-15
This 2 week volunteer opportunity will be all about telling the world about SCH through photographs, videos, blogs, and other media. SCH has so many stories to tell and we need volunteers to come and help us tell our stories. If you have a good eye for photographs, have graphic design experience, are a writer, or just have a passion for social media this trip is for you! Help SCH with their sponsor updates, learn about how you can advocate for SCH once you return home, and help us create materials that we can use throughout the year in our fundraising efforts. It’s also possible for you to extend your stay for the entire month of August. Cost is $300 plus airfare and passport/visa costs.

What is included in my trip cost?
Included in your trip cost is 3 Indian meals a day, a bed in our volunteer house, wifi, and clean drinking water. This amount can be fundraised through a tax deductible link provided by SCH. Additionally you are responsible for your airplane ticket, personal spending money, visa and passport costs, and airport pick up fees.
Will I have a chance to meet other people on the trip?
Yes! Once you are accepted you will be able to connect with the other people who will be on the same trip as you. You will be able to prepare and plan along with your other team members.
When should I apply by?
Summer volunteer applications are due by March 1st. Applications after that will be considered on a case by case basis.
