A Loving Bond

What a pleasure it is to introduce you to Alana! This young lady really touches our hearts, just like she does to every heart she comes in contact with! Alana was rescued from a government orphanage in November 2014. At the time, this precious girl was longing for a mother figure. In the orphanage she was very much left on her own, confined to a body that didn't allow her to go where she please because of disability. She had no choice but to be patient and wait for people to come to her for interaction and company. Can you imagine? Sadly, it did not happen nearly enough. Alana spent too many hours sitting on her own, desperately longing for a motherly companion. When the day came for the SCH staff to go and collect Alana from her orphanage, she instantly attached herself to a caregiver and to this day has not let go! Alana and her current caregiver are the best of friends. They do everything together. Their bond is something that is so special to both of them. It does our hearts such good to know that she is getting the love and attachment she needs and never received in the orphanage.

And it has made all the difference. Today Alana is all smiles! The little girl who hardly ever got any attention now receives it all day long. Not only is she a favorite amongst our staff, but she immediately steals the heart of every volunteer and is a sister to every girl in Jubilee. Through SCH, Alana found the community she so desperately longed for. Like so many of our young adults, finding sponsorship for Alana has been difficult. It costs us $300 a month to provide this wonderful girl with a roof over her head, tasty food in her belly, proper medical care, access to physical therapy, an education, and a devoted staff that cares for her every need. If you ever thought to yourself, "I want to give to the greatest need..." sponsoring one of our young adults, like Alana, is that great need.
