Ongole 

opportunities

Ongole is city located on the southeast coast of India in the Indian state of Andra Pradesh. Ongole is known for it's proximity to the Bay of Bengal and it's many oxen roaming the streets. Ongole has an authentic Indian atmosphere with many autos whizzing by busy streets yet retaining a small-town feel.

 

We have three homes in Ongole:

Faith: home to 26 girls and young women

Victory: home to 21 boys and young men

Truth: home to 10 boys and young men

Open positions

NURSE

To oversee Nursing staff. Work closely with Head Nurse in Hyderabad to adapt similar system. Maintain schedule for children/adults appointments, and attend when necessary.  Review and input doctor’s notes for about 60 children and adults. Monitor, maintain health charts. Training and overseeing nursing staff of 4.

SOCIAL WORKER

Assisting Social Work Team in Family Reunification Methods; Assisting with Adoption efforts; Creating Case Management System for our adults, updating child & adult files to include service plans. Training and assisting social work team in writing reports.

HOMESCHOOL TEACHER

Strongly desired to start in-home education program. We’d love to start a homeschool program soon for our adults who weren’t able to finish school because of their late start. A teacher would help to facilitate the homeschool program and ensure students are on track. A teacher with experience in working with disabled adults would also assist teachers and train them in techniques to assist them other classes.

MALE HOUSE PARENT

Everyday is different as a House Parent but generally responsible for 8-12 young boys and men with disabilities; working with caregivers to make sure they are all well taken care of. Maintaining a daily schedule for them which includes class time/school, and planning activities after class/school time. Assisting school boys with schoolwork and reviewing grades and school progress. Assisting adults in vocational program projects.

VOCATIONAL PROGRAM ASSISTANT

To assist our Vocational Program Director with teaching adults with intellectual disabilities and helping them to become as independent as possible. We especially need help with planning, marketing, inventory management. Any business savvy people are most welcome. Creative folks who like to create new products, particularly for our jewelry project and craft projects.

COUNSELOR

Trained counselor to help our adults work through their trauma. Knowledge and familiarity with Indian culture, and experience with disabled clients preferred, but not required. Counseling sessions with our adults and children. Training to staff and volunteers on trauma informed care, best practices and techniques for the children.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Trained Physical Therapist to oversee Physical Therapist in home and provide therapy to children/adults that aren’t able to be seen by PT. Provide training to staff for in home therapy exercises. Fundraising for needed tools, like orthotics, etc.

FEMALE HOUSE PARENT
